The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor to release his film Wanted, starring Salman Khan on September 18 after he deposited a security of Rs Two crore by September 16.
Kapoor had run into a legal dispute over an advance of Rs 10 crore he had taken from financer LMB Holdings, a B4U group company. The Bombay High Court, while directing the producer to secure the amount, had restrained him from licensing the Salman Khan-starrer Wanted to third party till the amount was deposited.
A bench headed by Justice B N Agarwal allowed Kapoor to release the film after his counsel Mukul Rohtagi offered to deposit Rs 2 crore with the registry of the Bombay High Court as a security amount by September 16.
