Ranbir, Katrina end WIFW grand finale in style

Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif sashayed down the ramp at the grand finale of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) for designer Rohit Bal, bringing down the curtains of the five-day event in style.

Dressed in an embroidered white sherwani, Kapoor on Wednesday night managed to steal the hearts of many girls in the audience, who couldn't stop gushing about the star's chocolaty looks. Pretty Katrina Kaif, attired in a short white dress, looked like a Barbie doll. Another highlight of the show was a live performance by Orissa's Prince Dance Group that recently won the dance reality show "India's Got Talent".

Since Bal is always associated with grandeur, the sets reflected flamboyance and style. The glass ramp had gold lotus flowers underneath. The main show area was draped with golden curtains. Complementing the ambience perfectly were the clothes that talked about the Mughal era when India was the land of maharajas (kings). The collection was appropriately called Yasas, which means grand in Sanskrit.

Talking about his collection, Bal said: "The collection is a reflection of incredible talent that we have in India in terms of artisans and craftsmanship. The line is an ode to India's rich heritage." "It is about India, which was once known as the 'Golden Peacock'. Through this line, I am bringing that golden era back to India," he added. The collection had a mix of brocades, velvets in the pre-Mughal and Mughal designs like long and short anarkalis, sherwanis, jodhpuri pants, dresses and long coats. The collection will also be retailed through Wills Lifestyle outlets across India.

Ranbir, Katrina to walk ramp for Rohit Bal at WIFW?

Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are expected to walk the ramp together for the first time for designer Rohit Bal's show at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Bal will bring the curtain down on the fashion extravaganza Friday with his show and Ranbir and Katrina, who will be seen together in the forthcoming romantic comedy "Azab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani", will be his showstoppers.

"Ranbir and Katrina are both great friends with Rohit. They will walk the ramp for the first time together for his show to promote their film 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani'," a source said.

Directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" is slated for a Nov 6 release.

Bloody Nose: Kat and Ranbir hurt!

Here’s a story that’s quite nosey. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif landed up hurting their noses in a scene. A unit source said, “It was an action sequence. Ranbir was fighting goons and while doing the shot he landed up hurting his nose. And in the same fighting sequence, he accidentally landed up hitting Katrina on her nose too.”

But she never complained once. In fact she laughed it off saying, “Ranbir are you trying to save me from the goons or are you saving the goons from me.” Everyone laughed on the set.

Ranbir Kapoor badly hurt his nose while shooting for a wedding sequence in Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani. A unit member said, “The scene required Ranbir to hop and elope with Kats on his bike. He had to ride the bike in full speed and he has crash through the wooden house in the escaping process. He successfully gave the shot but during the process, it was his nose that banged on the wooden sheet of the house.”

“When Ranbir was watching the shot on the monitor, Katrina noticed his bleeding nose. She gently applied ice and nursed him till the bleeding stopped completely. Ranbir was touched by Katrina’s gesture,” said our source.

Ranbir and Katrina’s funny chemistry

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have a natural knack for comedy. A unit hand said, “Ranbir and Katrina possess a great sense of humour. The two make jokes at a drop of hat. Their one-liners can have you in splits. It is this off the set chemistry that has come across on screen too.”

The comic sequences have turned out to be simply hilarious. In fact, the unit could not help control their laughter while the comic scenes were being shot. “Not only Rajkumar Santoshi and Ramesh Taurani, but also the entire crew would break into laughter.”

The unit had become had become like this one big family. “We had become so attached by the end of it that tears would well up in our eyes when we’d watch Katrina and Ranbir do an emotional scene. But we all kept quiet about it,” said the source.
