Katrina Kaif is going ga ga over Kareena and their bond. Recently giving an interview to a news channel Kat was excited to talk about her friend. Not many people know that both the vivacious actress shares the same manager too.
“She is very nice girl and I like her as well as her work. We even shares one manager and I am a big fan of her,” says Katrina.
There had been news in the industry about their cold war but with this statement of Kat, she is putting it all the rumours at rest. Kareena Kapoor was the unchallenged queen of B-Town at as far as her price was concerned. But Katrina Kaif started competing with her at every turn: with the price, the number of film, as well as endorsements.
“Whenever we meet each other she talks with me very nicely and I too love her company. I really do admire her as one of the great actress in the industry,” she states in the interview to the entertainment channel.
Looking at this statement it seems the cold war between the two actresses has ended. All’s well that end’s well is what we can say in this case.

For Salman’s show, Preity was the cheerleader
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta played the role of a perfect cheerleader for dear friend Salman Khan whose “Being Human” show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week here late Tuesday saw many celebrities strutting down the ramp.
Dressed in a “Being Human” sleeveless T-shirt and sporting a new look with fringes falling perfectly on her forehead, the actress looked as ravishing as ever.
Sitting with her friend choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan and fashion designer Manish Malhotra, the actress started shouting from the very first moment when Salman Khan started the show and sashayed down the ramp.
“Wow! Salman! Salman!,” shouted Zinta and continued clapping till he left the ramp.
It was not just for Salman, she also cheered for other celebrities like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan with equal enthusiasm.
Farah Khan and Manish Malhotra joined her and together left no stone unturned to pep up the atmosphere.
“I must tell you that my throat is already gone. I was so happy that all this shouting and cheering just happened. The show was all about being human and being together. It celebrated togetherness of the industry and this is what had me do all the shouting. But it is worth it,” Preity said after the show.
Commenting on Aamir Khan’s ramp debut, she said that the actor looked cute.
“I think he was looking very cute on the ramp. He is already so charming and you can’t take that away from him,” she said.

A kiss on forehead, from Helen to Salma Khan
This was a spontaneous gesture. The moment three brothers Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan walked hand-in-hand on the ramp, stepmother Helen kissed their real mom Salma Khan on her forehead to cherish the moment of togetherness.
The magical moment came during Salman’s “Being Human” show on the second day of the HDIL India Couture Week.
“It was spontaneous. I didn’t know what came to my mind at that moment. But it was a very proud moment for the family and just to share that moment of togetherness, I kissed Salma on her forehead,” Helen said.
This was the first time that the whole Khan family had made a public appearance together. With Salma and Helen sitting next to each other and their daughter-in-law Malaika Arora Khan and daughter Arpita cheering for all of them in the audience, the family bonding was at its peak.
“Today we had everyone here except for my father, who I am sure is sitting somewhere up above and watching us and it is him who has guided me to take this path and come up with this fashion show,” said Salman Khan.
“It is an incredible and memorable moment for me,” he added.
At the end of the show, the three brothers pushed their mothers Salma and Helen respectively to walk the ramp with them.
For Salman’s charity “Being Human” show, the Bollywood industry had come in full support with as many as 10 celebrities walking the ramp and many sitting in the audience to cheer for them.
The show saw the ramp debut of Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgn who looked a bit nervous, while Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan walked with poise.
Among Bollywood stars who cheered for them with the audience was choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, Bollywood actors Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen, Amisha Patel, Amrita Arora, Twinkle Khanna, Malaika Arora Khan, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, filmmaker Boney Kapoor with his wife Sridevi and two daughters, and cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
For the show, the clothes were designed by designer duo Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna, Ashish Soni, Gavin Miguel and Rocky S, among others.

Katrina Kaif gets new nickname
Her fans have often referred to her as Kat, but now actress Katrina Kaif has a new nickname — Sambo — courtesy her Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani co-star Ranbir Kapoor. “Ranbir coined the name on the sets of the movie when both were required to shoot for an action sequence,” said a unit source. For the scene, Katrina and Ranbir were required to climb a ladder placed at a height of 200 feet. Ranbir had to save Katrina from goons and then escape on a jet ski. While everyone was doubtful about Katrina doing the stunt, she shocked everyone with her confidence. “Everyone on sets was quite sceptical about Katrina. But she amazed everyone as she comfortably climbed the ladder leaving Ranbir lagging behind. Ever since that day Katrina has always been addressed as Rambo’s sister Sambo by Ranbir,” said the source.

Bipasha has never looked so simple: Rocky S
Dusky beauty Bipasha Basu, known for her bold and sensual image, is playing a Kashmiri girl in “Lamhaa” and designer Rocky S, who has draped her in the Bollywood movie, says that she has never looked so simple onscreen.
“In this movie, you will be surprised to see Bipasha in a non-glamorous role. She is without any makeup and has worn simple clothes to fit in perfectly for this role,” Rocky S said in an interview.
“She is looking very simple, and trust me, she has never looked that simple. She has always looked glamorous onscreen but this time, it would be the girl next door look,” he added.
Elaborating on Bipasha’s look, Rocky said: “In this movie, you will see her in salwaar kameez, kaftans and dupattas. The colours that I have used there are also very subtle.”
“She is playing the role of a tortured girl in the movie and this demanded a very subtle look,” he added.
Was it difficult to portray Bipasha as a simple girl?
“Not at all. She is someone who carries every outfit with elan. She is beautiful and sexy and looks very feminine. The character of this simple Kashmiri Muslim girl has brought out that femininity,” Rocky explained.
“It took me about one-and-a-half months to create the look for her. But at the end of the day, I am very happy with her look,” he added.
Mumbai-based Rocky S is in the capital to participate in the three day Van Heusen India Mens Week (VHIMW) that opened Friday.
Rocky’s Bollywood clientele includes John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Shilpa Shetty. When asked which celebrity would walk the ramp at VHIMW, the designer said: “Now I don’t need any celebrity to prove myself.”
Apart from “Lamhaa”, he is also designing for Katrina Kaif in Priyadarshan’s “De Dana Dan” but refused to divulge any details.

Katrina-SRK together in a Yash Raj film this bothers Salman?
It seems that there is nothing else that Katrina could have done to annoy overprotective boyfriend Salman more! Hard to believe the truth but the fact is Kat has reportedly gone ahead to the extent of signing a film by Yash Raj banner with none other than Sallu’s opponent Shah Rukh Khan. According to the latest news Yash Raj films has string of Kat and SRK for their film to be directed either by Aditya Chopra or Kabir Khan. According to our source, “Katrina definitely has it going for her. SRK, on the other hand, has remained in the safe zone — as far as heroines are concerned — for a long time. Be it Rani Mukerji or Preity Zinta, he has stuck to his regulars and has worked with them repeatedly. He needs to be a tad more adventurous about his co-stars, and that’s where Katrina comes into the picture.” Most probably Early next year film is going to hit the screen. What was Katrina thinking when she got herself tied up with the deadly Yash Raj-Shah Rukh combo? Guess that’s really going to bother Salman!

Katrina’s 25th birthday a family affair in London
“I’m celebrating my birthday this year with my entire family, all my sisters who have flown down from all over, my mom who’s flown down from Chennai and my brother who’s a professional rock climber,” Katrina, who will turn 25, told IANS through SMS. “I was supposed to spend a long holiday with them last year during Christmas and New Year in London, but I had to cut my trip short because of my work schedule. So this year I’m specially taking time out for them and we are going to Italy for a family get together. I haven’t had a break in almost two years, so I’m looking forward to this,” added the actress. Last year her birthday bash turned ugly when beau Salman Khan picked a fight with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. So this year Katrina is celebrating her birthday away from tinsel town. She is just six years old in the industry, but has found a firm foothold. Katrina’s first break in Bollywood was Kaizad Gustad’s 2003 “Boom”. Though the film was a flop, people started noticing her and offered her roles and one of them was Ram Gopal Varma’s 2005 film “Sarkar”. She had a small role as Abhishek Bachchan’s girlfriend, but made her presence felt in the film, which was a Mumbai underworld interpretation of Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel “The Godfather”. Katrina’s big success came in the form of 2008 super hit film “Namastey London” and she continued her winning streak with “Apne”, “Partner”, “Welcome”, “Race” and “Singh Is Kinng”. Subhash Ghai’s “Yuvvraaj” disrupted it, but only for a brief period, as Katrina bounced back with the commercial and critical success of Kabir Khan’s “New York”, a film about 9/11. According to film critics, with big banners, huge fan-base and several brand endorsements, Katrina is currently one of the most sought after actresses in the Hindi film industry. “Katrina has evolved immensely as an actress. In Bollywood, actors are mostly known for the number of hits they deliver. Katrina has won hands down in that respect. She can undoubtedly be called a lucky mascot for her producers,” said popular film critic Taran Adarsh. Mumbai-based film critic Anupama Chopra says there are high expectations from Katrina even this year. “Katrina has had a fortunate choice of films” even though she “had a rather unfortunate start with ‘Boom’. She is a stunning looking actress and so far she is doing well with her glam doll image. We did see glimpses of an actor in her performance-oriented roles in ‘Namastey London’,” said Chopra. Her basket is full of good roles - she will be seen in films like “Blue” starring Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” and Priyadarshan’s “De Dana Dan” yet again starring Akshay. She is also doing the female lead in Prakash Jha’s political drama “Rajneeti”. Katrina is one of eight siblings. Her mother is British and her father is from Jammu and Kashmir who has since acquired British citizenship. The actress spent her formative years in Hawaii but later moved to London.Katrina Kaif has many reasons to smile. First her recent release “New York” became a huge success and now comes her birthday, which the British-born actress will celebrate with her entire family in London Thursday.

Salman skips Katrina’s birthday
A source close to the controversial star however told us, “Salman is shooting today and tomorrow as well. It is very less likely that he would excuse himself out of professional commitments.” Another insider belonging to his coterie reveals, “Salman had proposed a private party for Katrina for her birthday in Mumbai which would have guests only of her choice and it won’t be a repeat of anything like what it happened last year. He was trying to convince her till the last minute she left for London on Saturday but she had already made her mind to celebrate it with her family. This thing didn’t leave him too pleased. So maybe, that’s why he is not too enthusiastic of making a London trip, just for her birthday.” But well knowing the moody Khan you never know, he may just catch the first flight tomorrow morning and land at her doorstep.Just few hours back today on Tuesday July 15 we saw Salman Khan at the Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai. He was doing the shooting for the making video of his forthcoming film, Wanted. Tomorrow is his girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday and she is in London. So we wondered whether he would be flying to London tonight

Our khabroo revealed that, “For Kat her dietician has given a strict diet chart where she is restricted to eat oily and masala food.” “She eats more leafy stuff in the form of salad with boiled vegetables and a pinch of salt. No starch food for her. The actress doesn’t get much time to go to the gym, so she has to keep a close tab on her diet,” adds the source. ‘New York’ gets good press in US
‘New York’, the first big Bollywood film to hit America after the industry strike, has won good reviews from US media with the New York Times praising its portrayal of problems faced by a Muslim minority. “Indian films often deal with the problems faced by a Muslim minority. Transposed to the American context, those problems continue to resonate,” writes the influential daily about the film that opened across US last week. “Kabir Khan’s ‘New York’ looks at America after 9/11 through a Bollywood lens” and it’s less distorting than you might think,’ it says. “The story, which engages issues of ethnic profiling and terrorism, hinges on loyalty, love and friendship, a holy trinity of Hindi cinema.” Irrfan Khan, one of India’s best-known and most respected actors in the West, comes in for fulsome praise. “While (Kabir) Khan’s depictions of American life occasionally seem silly and the plot has some crater-size holes, ‘New York’ is continually fascinating. It benefits from the performance of Irrfan Khan, who adds layers of complexity to his character, a Muslim FBI agent.” NYC Movie Guru says “talented Irrfan Khan” plays an undercover FBI agent “with utter conviction.” “What makes the film so engrossing is that the intricate screenplay humanizes” the characters, it says “so that they’re not merely cartoonish or stereotypical.” “With the exception of a few corny scenes that come across as awkward and contrived, much of the plot feels captivating,” Movie Guru says. “Director Kabir Khan moves the pace along briskly, includes a lively soundtrack and an appropriate musical score along with stylish cinematography. “Screenwriter Sandeep Srivastava masterfully weaves a very suspenseful story that keeps you at the edge of your seat while tackling very provocative issues of post-9/11 racial profiling against Muslims.” Movie site rottentomatoes.com calls it a “fascinating film,” which “in very intriguing and suspenseful sequences …takes the audience in the plight of legal detainees’ and “interprets and highlights the situations without bias.” As the film reflects of the tragedy of everyday life, it uses the imagination of its audience in its feelings, says the critic. “The crisp flow of action and explosive dialogue furthers the plot while contributing to its effect as a whole. New York is a solid dramatic movie that I found quite good.”
