Subhash Ghai is on 2009 International Emmy Award Jury

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, has invited filmmaker and educationist Subhash Ghai as a Juror in the final round of judging for the 2009 International Emmy Awards.

The nominees are the regional semi-finalists from each of the four (4) Emmy judging regions (Europe, Latin America, English-Language and Asia/Africa/Middle-East). And will be voted as winners on 26th October 2009.

He has also been invited as a juror to attend The 37th International Emmy Awards Gala, which will take place on Monday, November 23, 2009 in New York City.

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a membership based organization comprised of leading media and entertainment figures from over 50 countries and 500 companies from all sectors of television including internet, mobile and technology. The Academy’s yearly schedule of events includes the prestigious International Emmy Awards Ceremony held in New York, The International Digital Emmy Awards at MIPTV and a series of industry events such as Academy Day, The International Emmy World Television Festival and Panels on substantive industry topics.

This will be fourth time when Subhash Ghai will judge once again for academy for his being a prominent film maker of India and a pioneer educationist in the field of cinema, television and media arts by opening a world class film school in Mumbai known as Whistling Woods International.

Subhash Ghai’s “Black and White’ has been invited for the Carlsberg International Film festival to be held in Nagpur from the 11th to the 18th of September 09 while Subhash Ghai has been invited to inaugurate the festival.The film will be featured along with La Dolce Vita, Turtles can fly, Spring Summer, Edge of Heaven and a Marathi film Gabriche Pause.

Black and White has emerged as show stealer and has garnered critical acclaim from media as well as general Public.In the first week of its release it was granted tax exemption in Delhi followed by the state of Maharashtra. This small budget patriotic drama is still growing at the box office too on the strength of its appreciation by word of mouth.

Black and White is a story of a terrorist and his journey to accomplish his only mission in life. A journey that lasts for 15 days in the heart of Old Delhi, a journey that changes his life.

The film was released worldwide on 7th of March 08 under the Mukta Searchlight banner, and got rave reviews from across the world.
