It's either kisses or brooms from Rakhi

If she likes you, she will blow kisses, else get ready to face brooms. That's Rakhi Sawant for you in a virtual avatar.

When the Bollywood's hottest 'item-girl' is angry, she will hurl belans, brooms, eggs, garbage, etc on the player.

But if the contestant manages to impress her, she will give kisses, rings, roses and even garlands in the online game show on Zapak.com.

The show, modelled on the lines of Sawant's latest reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, in which she goes on a groom-hunting mission, has turned out to be a hit among her fans.

"It was designed and developed by NDTV Imagine and is conceptualised very close to the reality show. The objective of the game remains to impress Rakhi Sawant and earn maximum points to get married to her," Chief Marketing Officer of Zapak Digital Entertainment Arun Mehra said.

Her fans have received a total of 3 million kisses so far after the game was launched last month, he said.

"As the reality show is youth-oriented, this game has created quite a buzz on our portal and it remains one of the most popular games being played on Zapak.com," Mehra said.

Genelia’s Acting Dumb, And She Hates It

So far Genelia D’Souza has played girls who have got their acts together and their heads screwed firmly to their shoulders. But that’s about to change.
In her next film Life Partner Genelia is cast as a super-dumb broad. And the actress is cringing. “This chick thinks she knows it all when she’s clueless. She doesn’t know how dumb she is. She’s got loads of money and time and she keeps trying different vocations. For starters she attempts a career in singing and she’s a disaster at it.”
Playing this scatter-brain was very tough for Genelia. “I’m not the least like this rich pampered clueless chick. And I’d certainly not try my hand at anything I wouldn’t succeed in. But this character keeps bumbling from one experience to another. She’s a nightmare.”
To add to Genelia’s woes, her character in Life Partner is hated by one of her favourite actors. “Govinda whom I adore detests me in the film. Every time we’re together he’s snarling and scowling at me. I hated that.”
Though there are other lead parts in Life Partner Genelia says she is not worried. “I’m the female protagonist in the ensemble cast.” Wonder where that leaves poor Prachi Desai!

Raveena lends helping hand to education sponsorship programme

Raveena Tandon has always been associated with different charitable programmes. Now the actress has associated herself with a sponsorship programme to provide quality education to poor children.

The 34-year-old who has been part of programmes by Child Care and You (CRY) and Unicef, among others, visited Delhi along with the marketing head of Hindi general entertainment channel Colors, Rameet Arora, to hand over a sponsorship certificate by the channel to Nai Disha — a school for children from poor families.

The sponsorship programme was part of a nationwide celebration of the channel’s first anniversary July 21.

“I have always associated myself with programmes and initiatives that include children. I feel safer with kids and have more fun with them.

“This is the reason why I have judged children’s shows and am involved with charities that will benefit the future of our country,” Raveena, a judge on the channel’s children’s reality show “Chhote Miyan - Chapter 2″, told reporters here.

“It was great coming here and meeting these children. Their enthusiasm and spirit make you feel so nice. I am happy that Colors is celebrating with such an unique approach. It is a good way to give back to people,” added Raveena, looking ravishing in a cream and black suit.

The initiative will be launched in other cities like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Patna, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad, Colors official Rameet Arora said.

War on the sets of Love Aaj Kal

he central theme of Love Aaj Kal revolves around black tea and black coffee, and this has started affecting the crew of the film as well. We know that the director of Love Aaj Kal is very fond of black tea and drinks lot of black Darjeeling tea. And so a few crew members developed an increasing curiosity towards this beverage.

Now, Deepika drank black coffee for the very first time on the film, like her character Meera, who is very fond of the same. And now the crew is swinging and switched to drinking black coffee

It was like a war, one side Saif Ali Khan and Deepika drinking coffee and on the other side director Imtiaz gobbling up tea-pots

Katrina’s 25th birthday a family affair in London

Katrina Kaif has many reasons to smile. First her recent release “New York” became a huge success and now comes her birthday, which the British-born actress will celebrate with her entire family in London Thursday.

“I’m celebrating my birthday this year with my entire family, all my sisters who have flown down from all over, my mom who’s flown down from Chennai and my brother who’s a professional rock climber,” Katrina, who will turn 25, told IANS through SMS.

“I was supposed to spend a long holiday with them last year during Christmas and New Year in London, but I had to cut my trip short because of my work schedule. So this year I’m specially taking time out for them and we are going to Italy for a family get together. I haven’t had a break in almost two years, so I’m looking forward to this,” added the actress.

Last year her birthday bash turned ugly when beau Salman Khan picked a fight with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. So this year Katrina is celebrating her birthday away from tinsel town.

She is just six years old in the industry, but has found a firm foothold.

Katrina’s first break in Bollywood was Kaizad Gustad’s 2003 “Boom”. Though the film was a flop, people started noticing her and offered her roles and one of them was Ram Gopal Varma’s 2005 film “Sarkar”. She had a small role as Abhishek Bachchan’s girlfriend, but made her presence felt in the film, which was a Mumbai underworld interpretation of Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel “The Godfather”.

Katrina’s big success came in the form of 2008 super hit film “Namastey London” and she continued her winning streak with “Apne”, “Partner”, “Welcome”, “Race” and “Singh Is Kinng”.

Subhash Ghai’s “Yuvvraaj” disrupted it, but only for a brief period, as Katrina bounced back with the commercial and critical success of Kabir Khan’s “New York”, a film about 9/11.

According to film critics, with big banners, huge fan-base and several brand endorsements, Katrina is currently one of the most sought after actresses in the Hindi film industry.

“Katrina has evolved immensely as an actress. In Bollywood, actors are mostly known for the number of hits they deliver. Katrina has won hands down in that respect. She can undoubtedly be called a lucky mascot for her producers,” said popular film critic Taran Adarsh.

Mumbai-based film critic Anupama Chopra says there are high expectations from Katrina even this year.

“Katrina has had a fortunate choice of films” even though she “had a rather unfortunate start with ‘Boom’. She is a stunning looking actress and so far she is doing well with her glam doll image. We did see glimpses of an actor in her performance-oriented roles in ‘Namastey London’,” said Chopra.

Her basket is full of good roles - she will be seen in films like “Blue” starring Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” and Priyadarshan’s “De Dana Dan” yet again starring Akshay. She is also doing the female lead in Prakash Jha’s political drama “Rajneeti”.

Katrina is one of eight siblings. Her mother is British and her father is from Jammu and Kashmir who has since acquired British citizenship.

The actress spent her formative years in Hawaii but later moved to London.

Katrina concerned about global warming

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who is riding high on the success of her recent hit “New York”, may not be worried about her career graph, but is sure concerned about global warming.
“Global warming is becoming a very serious issue. It is crippling the world and as individuals it is our responsibility that we make a conscious effort to deal with it in our own little way and make the world a better place to live,” Katrina said in a statement.

Seems like the Bollywood honeymoon is still not over for Asin, as the sinfully delicious actress seriously feels that actress can compete for the same roles and still be friends.

After being in news for sharing a dozen SMS everyday with Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Asin is hitting the airwaves again for being buddies with Anil Kapoor’s little girl, Sonam.

Being friends with Deepika and Sonam connects her with two of the most influential Kapoor clan of the Bollywood industry. Asin is a smart girl who knows to connect with the right people to move up in Bollywood.

At 23; Asin may be young, but she is definitely not naïve. A superstar down south long before Deepika and Sonam even signed their first films; Asin has been doing movies ever since she was 15 year old. She is well aware that her competitions in Bollywood are the young breed of actress, not the established ones.

All this talk of being friends with Deepika and Sonam, doesn’t go down too well if one remembers Asin’s spat with Genelia. Ms Congeniality Asin gets her claws out at the mention of Genelia.

Ahem Like they say, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Nandana Sen’s kiss gets a miss

Nandana Sen is making news, why? Well because the petite actress choose to scorch the screen by kissing co-star Anubhav Anand not one or two but three times!

Nandana seems no holds barred when it comes to her on-screen image as a sexy diva and really didn’t seem to shy away from kissing a newcomer like Anubhav for her new film Perfect Mismatch. For her new flick Nandana shared three on-screen smooches with her co-star.

But seems like even three time smooching didn’t prove lucky enough for Nandana Sen, as the filmmakers decided in the end to cut out the kissing scenes from the film Perfect Mismatch, to make it a family entertainer.

So eventually in the end the whole kissing shots were edited from the film, well Nandana it was a Perfect Mismatch to begin with, kissing a newcomer for a family entertainer is a serious no-no.

Looks like someone is going Mallika Sherawat’s way. But then darling like they say if its too hot to handle then just give the kiss a miss!

Katrina’s secret revealed

Katrina Kaif has been looking fitter and gorgeous these days. Well we bring out the secret of her slim and trim figure. It’s none other than her personal dietician who takes special care of what Kat is eating.

Our khabroo revealed that, “For Kat her dietician has given a strict diet chart where she is restricted to eat oily and masala food.”

“She eats more leafy stuff in the form of salad with boiled vegetables and a pinch of salt. No starch food for her. The actress doesn’t get much time to go to the gym, so she has to keep a close tab on her diet,” adds the source.

This special khana is sent to her by her dietician who sends her the food whenever Kat is dubbing or shooting in India.

Well so now you know what it takes to get a figure like Kat

Shabana addresses global summit on women’s abuse in Afghanistan

Ignoring her family’s concern for her safety, Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi visited Afghanistan this week on an invitation by the UN to be the main speaker at a global summit to address the issue of violence against women.

Shabana left for Kabul Tuesday night although her family, including husband Javed Akhtar, expressed fear for her safety in the war ravaged country.

“Danger is fun,” the actress said before departing.

A champion of women’s rights, Shabana has represented India on several international platforms but she felt this honour in a country known to repress women was of special importance.

“The subject was ‘Silence Is Violence – End The Abuse Of Women In Afghanistan’. It was supported by a report by the Human Rights wing of the UN and the Human Rights Commission in Kabul,” the actress said.

“The conference discussed the findings on how women are treated in Afghanistan. We talked about ways to strengthen law enforcement and judicial institutions to curb violence against women,” she added.

Recalling an earlier trip to Kabul, Shabana said: “I had gone to Kabul as part of a Bollywood delegation headed by Sunil Dutt Saab during president Najibullah’s regime. He hosted a dinner for us where he sang the Mukesh number ‘Mujhhe tumse kuch bhi na chahiye’. Jadoo (Javed Akhtar) joked with him and asked whether he was singing it for the Russians!”

Kareena was comfortable wearing bikini in ‘Kambakkht Ishq’: Director

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor had no problems wearing a bikini for her just-released “Kambakkht Ishq”, informs debutant director Sabbir Khan.

“There was no problem from Kareena’s side in wearing a bikini. If she’s said that she wouldn’t don a bikini, then she must have felt that the scene she has performed in ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is special before going ahead and doing it,” Khan told IANS.

“She didn’t have any apprehensions…and I think she’s gone ahead and done it beautifully…If there had been any problems, she wouldn’t have worn it,” he added.

Kareena has earlier said that she has decided to stay away from bikini for her mother Babita’s sake. Babita didn’t like her two-piece stint in last year’s dud “Tashan”.

Lady with a phone: Devgan gifts Bipasha a Blackberry

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has got a swanky new toy - a Blackberry - gifted to her by her co-star and producer Ajay Devgan for working round the clock for his new film “All the Best”.
And though Bipasha has lost all her numbers and she can’t identify any caller, she just can’t get enough of her new phone.

“I love it! I’m going totally crazy with it. Though I’ve no numbers on it and am trying to figure it out, I just can’t get enough of it,” says the actress who finished shooting for Ajay Devgan’s comedy “All The Best” in Goa this week.

Devgan gifted the phone to Bipasha out of the blue (or shall we say, black?) on the last day of shooting for working round the clock including late nights and early mornings. In fact Bipasha kept off the phone to the extent of not even connecting with her boyfriend John Abraham who was limping around on crutches in Mumbai trying to promote his new film.

Apparently Bipasha also agreed to do an additional role in “All The Best” without charging a single penny extra.

Devgan known to be a generous producer had heard Bipasha mention she wanted a Blackberry.

The actress said: “Yeah, Ajay knew I wanted it. In fact it was he who got me interested in it. It is actually a gift in appreciation for working long hours and changing at lightning speed between shots when we had loads of work to finish. Ajay is a fabulous co-star and producer.”

Bipasha soon leaves for Hyderabad to shoot the songs for “All The Best”. On Saturday she also watched her boyfriend’s new film “New York” finally.

“I’m so proud of him,” she whispered.
